Landmark Education: Their Main Marketing Element

It was the cold morning of Christmas and though I slept late the night before I was up and running in the morning to attend the Landmark Education session which was to start at 11 AM. A journey of 1.5 hours and I reached almost on time (10 minutes late.)

It was an introductory session and I was called in by one of my cousins. Session speaker was a early 30s guy with a confident posture and a firm voice. Though I hadn’t done any prior research on what Landmark Education is I had high hopes with it because my cousin who called me in is a smart girl and she wouldn’t get associated with anything that is average, she goes for the best.

Marketing Idea for Music and Event's Industry

Just the other day I was strolling online and exploring new music when I saw this special button on ‘Myspace’ website which said ‘Bring this band to your city’. If you haven’t seen it yet do check it out. It rose my level of curiosity because at one time I had this concept in mind but saw it in implementation now. I don’t know how extensively Myspace people are making use of it, I doubt they are even using it. It just seems like another fancy item on their artist page. However if any other website tries to adopt this concept they can leverage it’s hidden power and can probably make it viral and how they can do this, I’m gonna explain in this blog post.

The general idea behind this concept is to find which band is in demand and in which region. If enough people hit this button Myspace could then arrange a show of that artist in that particular region and inform interested people who hit the button earlier and bring in decent crowd and ultimately create revenue for themselves and the artist. Though it’s a long process and there are too many variables there is still a way to make it work.

How to set Twitter Trends?

It’s 2012 and we are already running in digital age of social media. Half a decade back when twitter was in its initial stages no body would have thought that power of # and @ could be so useful for your business. What differentiates twitter from other social medias is its power vested in 140 characters. Keeping a cap on the number of letters that can be used helps in maintaining the quality of content. People have lots to say but on twitter they have to write what is important and relevant and that brings out the best content.

If you have to search the relevant content according to your need, twitter allows you to do that with the help of #, @ and its search bar. While going forward i will assume that you understand the basic idea of the usability of # and @.

What is SEO and which SEO to hire?

Search Engine Optimization as you know is basically a practice and methodology to increase your ranking in the search result when a person tries to find out something related to you. There are people who do this and help you rank higher in search results and these days there are hundreds of them coz digital media world is growing at a super fast rate. The most prominent negative effect of this is that it also increases the chances of customer being cheated or mislead by these SEOs. I’ll be highlighting some level of insights here in order to make you understand what SEO people are and what’s their job and how can you help yourself from being cheated.

Since the time I have been learning and implementing SEO(not long) what i have learnt is that SEO people have two levels, first kind have the basic knowledge of SEO and how to implement the basic stuff and the other ones are the advanced people who are way past the basic SEO implementation and implementing the advanced SEO practices which might sound very fancy but are actually just elaborate. And yes you read it right there are no intermediate levels.

Ask Questions – Social Media Engagement Tactic

Engagement as everyone says is the key to increase your social bond with your users and to improve your lead generation rate and conversion rate. Today our company finally started publishing posts on our brand’s Facebook page and twitter profile which was long due and something happened today which taught me a simple lesson of how to engage with people. ASK QUESTIONS, simple enough but very powerful. I will explain it with a specific case study.

Now let’s say you posted a third party content on your brand’s page as you don’t have your own content yet. It took you time to curate the best content and then you posted it on Facebook. Supposedly the first comment you got was something like

“This is not that impressive, there were others who were way better than this.”

Do startups require Social Media Marketing consultants?

This question popped up when me and my founder were discussing about how to go about our social media as we are nearing to launch. For few days i was little off the track working on database and other manual stuff and side by side trying to learn as much as possible about SEO, SEM, Online marketing, google analytics, adwords, webmaster tools etc. I was throwing a lot of ideas on the table during the discussion that we can put a mix of content on our social media profile and we should connect to our users at every level and maintain a personal bond with them because that’s how startups grow their goodwill and of course for the word of mouth. Maybe because I’m a new guy in this field or for whatever reason he blatantly asked me this question “Should I hire a Social Media Consultant?”

Whether to start marketing Before or After Beta launch?

So i joined a new firm for internship, my life is starting to roll out finally. Its a tough decision to select where to intern or start a job when you have a lot of aspirations and expectations about how you wanna work, the environment, creativity and your level of engagement. Me being lucky got a chance to work with a startup company in music industry. First of all a startup and that too in music industry, a jackpot for me.

So now that I’m working closely with the founder, giving in my ideas, my enthusiasm level always remain on the top. I’m always up to something new and I just want to turn the face of the company and be a key player in doing that, even before they have launched the product. That’s how i think. Being in the marketing, business and customer development i keep reading online about finding the best ways to kick off our product’s launch, how to market it efficiently, ways to build up customer trust etc and even though these articles, blogs and websites give you plenty of information there is always a hunger in me to try it out practically.

Nobody likes to join music startups? Huh?

Music is something that connects you to joyous feeling in some or the other way. Even if you are a 55 year old mossback and hate listening to our generation of music I’m sure even you must have danced at your wedding. Everyone enjoy’s music and most of the people just love it so much that their day remains incomplete without it, some even listen to it to think better. So why is it so tough to find people who are interested in a music startup? Why everybody chickens out or are afraid to take a plunge in this sector?

Since the day I started working on PLUGMYDJ i find typical problems which seems to have no solution sometimes but i know every startup face them and I’m no exception so i keep hanging on and keep trying. But wouldn’t it be frustrating if in the midst of all this your co-founder starts to make excuses; my parents are pressurizing for studies, my college professor gave me a new project; i can’t manage everything blah blah blah and finally quits. Yeah that’s what happened with me.
